The Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) on August 21, 2026, issued circular on Action taken report for observations reported in Inspection of Authorised Persons.
MCX has prescribed timelines for trading members to take disciplinary action against Authorised Persons (APs) for non-compliances identified during AP inspections, in accordance with the indicative disciplinary actions specified in its earlier Circular dated November 06, 2025. Members must take the prescribed disciplinary action within 2 months from the end of the relevant quarter and submit the Action Taken Report (ATR) along with closure status of observations within 3 months from the quarter-end.
For example, for the April–June quarter, AP inspection reports are to be submitted by July 31, disciplinary action by August 31, and the ATR by September 30. However, where the prescribed action is termination of the AP, disciplinary action must be taken within 7 days from receipt of the inspection report or identification of the non-compliance, whichever is applicable.
The revised timelines will apply to AP Inspection Reports for the July–September 2026 quarter onwards. Detailed operational guidelines for submission of ATRs will be communicated separately.
